How Much Does LED Landscape Lighting Cost To Maintain?

LED landscape lighting cost: lower than you think!Everyone I talk to knows my position on LED landscape lighting: I love it!

The first question I get from potential customers considering a switch to LED  lighting: “How much does LED l lighting cost?” And right after that: “How much does LED lighting cost to maintain?”

The cost to install an LED  lighting system can be a bit higher, of course, but customers who take the plunge find that thanks to amazing technological advances, outdoor LED lighting is both beautiful and costs less to maintain.

That’s because LED lighting is incredibly low maintenance — but just like you visit the salon for a bit of regular pampering, your outdoor LED lighting will need some occasional attention.

Here at Landscape Lighting Pro of Utah, we package all routine maintenance needs into an annual service call and tackle them all at once. Here’s a look at some LED landscape lighting costs for maintenance, and what that maintenance includes.

What’s Included In Routine LED Outdoor Lighting Maintenance?

You want your LED lighting system to look as great after one, two, or even eight years as it did when it was first installed.

So do we! So when we visit your home for an annual maintenance check, we take a look at everything. Here's a short list of things we check during these visits:

  • Check timers to make sure they’re working properly
  • Inspect the transformer and tighten any loose terminal blocks
  • Ensure all buried wires still safely tucked underground
  • Tighten fittings
  • Clean all fixture lenses so the light shines nice and bright
  • Inspect bulbs for changes in color and temperature
  • Trim overgrown plants
  • Adjust aim of fixtures, including downlighting in eaves and trees
  • Check for damaging trapped moisture that can seep into the fixtures

Our goal? We want your LED landscape lighting system to look as good as the day we installed it.

Schedule LED Landscape Lighting Maintenance Once A Year

How much does LED landscape lighting cost to maintain? Find out here.If this sounds like a lot of painstaking care, you’re right. It is. All this happens once a year during your annual maintenance visit. The cost for the typical property is $100 to $150.

Some things won’t cost you a dime: We sell our LED lighting systems with a lifetime warranty that covers fixtures and installation.

That lifetime warranty doesn’t cover the bulbs, but those come with a five-year manufacturer’s warranty.

In addition, we offer a one-year “bumper to bumper” warranty that covers any trouble. Do you have a timer issue? A bulb fails? A light needs to be readjusted or re-aimed? It’s covered in the first year after installation of your LED outdoor lighting system.

After one year, we charge for a service call, which runs $75 for the first hour, and $65 per hour for service calls lasting more than one hour.

How Much Does LED Landscape Lighting Cost To Maintain? Be Proactive.

At Landscape Lighting Pro of Utah, we don’t install your LED lighting system and walk away. We want to stay involved. When it’s time for your yearly maintenance check, we’ll mail you a reminder.

But sometimes customers forget to call us, and suddenly, five years have passed. Things have started going wrong. Now that maintenance call will cost a few hundred dollars, because things weren’t cared for along the way.

You know what they say: An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure!
