3 Outdoor Lighting System Upgrades: Make it Customizable & Hassle-Free

Are you still manually resetting your low-voltage outdoor lighting timer to work with the change in season? Are you wishing there was a way to dim your lights, or control the whole system on your smart phone? Well you’ve come to the right place!

Here are 3 ways Landscape Lighting Pro can upgrade your outdoor lighting system to make it customizable and hassle-free!

1. The Astronomic Timer

As the seasons change and it begins to get dark earlier, your outdoor lighting system timer needs to be adjusted so you aren’t left in the dark. In the past, low-voltage landscape lighting timers would have to be manually adjusted to keep up with the changing seasons. Remember to do this twice a year, and even how to, can turn into a big hassle. That is why we offer our clients the Astronomic Timer.

The Astronomic Timer is a new and improved way to maintain your lighting system. It automatically determines the exact time for dusk and dawn based on your location. The Astronomic Timer also adjusts for Daylight Savings Time on its own!

Astronomic Timer Benefits:

  • Automatically turns low voltage outdoor lighting system on/off
  • Automatic Daylight Saving Time option
  • Sunrise, sunset, daily, weekday, and/or weekend options
  • Convenient on/off indicator light
  • Battery backup with low battery indicator
  • Displays current date and time

2. Wifi Zone Control

One of our favorite features is our Wifi Zone Control. This feature allows you to control your lighting system from your smart phone! It has the ability to turn your lights on and off, or just simply dim them.

The Wifi Zone Control works in sync with your astronomic timer allowing you to set up schedules that tells your lights when to come on, turn off, or dim themselves.

The main benefit of this feature is that you can create different zones in your lighting system. The benefit of this is that that each zone can be controlled independently.

If you are having a pool party, you could have your pool deck zone lit up completely, while your other zones are dimmed so that the focus is on the pool. Other times, you can dim your pool deck and have your path lights lit up completely. Whatever the combination is, it is completely customizable to your needs.

Wifi Zone Control Benefits:

  • Create zones in your lighting system that can be controlled independently
  • Lighting system controlled with smart phone
  • Control astronomic timer for sunrise/sunset, adjusting automatically with Daylight Savings
  • Set schedules that work with your lifestyle
  • Control dimmers independently or in groups
  • Works in sync with astronomic timer

3. Dimmers

The simplest way to upgrade your outdoor lighting system is by adding dimmers. When you add dimmers to your lighting system, it creates a wide variety of options when it comes to the look and feel of your outdoor lights.

The dimmer is a small switch linked to your Astronomic Timer that can be mounted where it is convenient for you. The dimmer switch can be mounted on a beam of your pergola or right by your door, allowing you to easily control the brightness of your lighting system as the night progresses.
