Design inspiration and outdoor lighting tips and advice for homeowners

End of Year Must Haves for your Landscaping

As the end of year is nearing and the season turns cooler the nights grow longer, and those crisp, fall nights invite us to enjoy the outdoors before the snow flies. While this weather is perfect to sit around your fireplace, or on your deck with friends and family, the early darkness can make it hard to take advantage of your space. With landscape lighting, you are able to extend your time in your outdoor living spaces.

Here are our favorite landscape lighting techniques extending those evenings at the end of the year.

Fire Pit Lighting

Nothing is better than cuddling up by a fire on a cool night. It brings soothing comfort to the crisp nights. Adding fire pit lighting can create a new depth and safety to the space.

A lighting approach we like to add to fire pits are undercap lighting. Undercap lights are poisoned directly underneath the seating wall's extended lips or to the fire pit rim. Having this lighting installed brings an attractive artful look to your fire pit area, while encouraging guests to sit around the fire safely.

Patios and Pergolas

Extensions to living spaces such as patios, pergolas, and even decks, all serve to expand areas for entertainment. Adding bistro lights can elevate these spaces and increase their usefulness during the shorter days. Bistro lights add ambiance and warmth to these outdoor spaces when underneath them. In fact, with bistro lighting, it may create such a nice atmosphere you may not want to come inside.

Outdoor Kitchen

This time of year can be hard to enjoy your outdoor kitchen as the weather changes. While the cooler nights can make cooking meals outside so inviting, the sun going down early can make it hard to use your outdoor kitchen. The loss of sunshine shouldn't mean we cut out the use of outdoor kitchens.

Using proper outdoor lighting can help light up your outdoor kitchen so you can use it regardless of the amount of daylight. Even if it's a full outdoor kitchen equipped with dining, or even as simple as a grill space, we at Landscape Lighting Pro can help you increase the purpose of the area. From adding light to counters or adding a grill light, we can do it all to offer extended use of your outdoor kitchen.

Highlighting the architecture of your home and yard can be a key component to consider when it comes to landscape lighting in the fall. With the days getting shorter and the sun setting earlier it's often dark before most homeowners return home from their busy days. The best part about architectural lighting is that you won't pull up to a dark house. It's very satisfying to arrive home to a well lit yard and approach.

Highlighting the beautiful accents of your home not only increases curb appeal, it also adds a sense of security as the amount of daylight shrinks.
