Illuminate your Outdoor Fire Pit with Landscape Lighting

With the chilly evenings, you might be spending more time gathered around the comfort of your outdoor fire pit. As these warm fire pits are often used only at night, let's talk about some ways we can increase their charm to ensure safer use by sharing some outdoor fire pit lighting ideas.

Undercap Lighting

A favorite design technique for fire pit lighting incorporates undercap lighting. At Landscape Lighting Pro, we insert a small fixture under the ledge of the fire pit. It's hardly visible in the daytime, but it provides a wonderful ambiance to the zone in the evening time.

The undercap lighting creates a pleasing aesthetic look by shining light onto the stonework and creating depth and texture. Additionally, this allows the space to be safe when the sun goes down by lighting the corners and pathways to prevent trips and falls. Want to learn more about undercap lighting? click here.

Adding bistro lights is a great way to create a fun and pleasant environment. They add a subtle ambiance to each outdoor gathering. Bistro lighting near or surrounding your fire pit can illuminate pathways throughout the fire pit without diminishing the mood or the flame!

Path Lighting

Another option to consider when adding lighting for your fire pit is path lights. Adding path lights is a great way to light up the path to and from the fire pit to avoid trips and falls.

Path lights shine close to the ground, greatly improving visibility. It provides safety assurance for you and your guests to travel back and forth from the fireplace.

Down Lighting

One of our favorite light sources is down lighting. Like the moon as it shines to the ground, down lighting casts the most soothing glow from high up in the trees. Placed above a nearby tree, pergola, or the home's roof, down lighting, can lighten the whole outdoor space in a subtle natural way.

Down lighting is ideal for folks who enjoy having dinner parties accompanied by a night by the fire. These overhead lights can be dimmed or turned on and off, allowing you to supply the right amount of illumination you desire.
